Arturo Rodriguez Torija His work has been exhibited in Norway, Denmark, Brazil, Italy and the U.S. and many cities of Mexico, having got important photographic awards and recognition nationally and internationally as well. Was awarded in the “III Biennale Internazionale dell Arte Contemporanea” in Florence, Italy in 2001. Before, in 1998 was invited to participate in the “Vitrina degli Artisti Contemporanei” IV edition at the Palazzo degli Affari (Italy). In 1996 his work was included in the “Best of Photography Annual” book of the Photographer’s Forum magazine, among a huge selection of more than 19,000 picture participants world wide, and in the same year was awarded as the more destacado of 1996 from the Consejo de Artes Fotográficas de Chihuahua (Chihuahua’s Photographic Arts Council). For his work has been awarded twice with the David Alfaro Siqueiros Scholarship and up to date (June 2009), has participated in 25 solo and 76 collective exhibitions. Has been founder fellow and active member of important cultural associations like the Consejo de Artes Fotográficas de Chihuahua, A.C. (Chihuahua’s Photographic Arts Council), the Salón de la Plástica Chihuahuense, A.C., (Chihuahua Plastic Hall), the Fundación Cultural Chihuahua, A.C (Chihuahua Cultural Foundation), the Seminario de Cultura Mexicana (Mexican Culture Seminary), or the Seminario de Patrimonio Cultural de Chihuahua (Chihuahua Cultural Patrimony Seminary), and in all of them has occupied directive charges in their respective councils. Co-founder of Vértice Cultural, which is a private cultural center for teaching in the diverse areas of the art and cultural world, in which he teach basic and advanced digital photography for the development of photographic projects. Besides he has hired as cultural counselor in the City of Chihuahua’s Cultural Institute as the general coordinator of the Corridor of the Photography. At this time his work it’s been exhibited at the Casa Redonda Chihuahuan Contemporary Art Museum which is the most important museum of the State of Chihuahua.
