Our manufacturing facilities and showroom in Surabaya cover a combined area of 15,000m2. We are known in the industry for our ability to interpret your design wishes and to combine this with our knowledge of machines, material and furniture manufacturing. We are flexible when discussing and developing your design criteria, prototype production and eventually, finished product requirements. The selection, grading and storage of raw material, such a teakwood are very important steps in our manufacturing process. We buy our own logs from the government owned auction company PT. Perhutani. Our own staff supervises the processing of our logs to the correct cutting sizes and in doing so we seek to minimize excessive waste. Within our facilities are housed kiln-dry rooms and grading station, using modern testing equipment to ensure proper moisture content throughout the production process (www.brookhuis.com) . Our in-house metal and woodworking workshops are equipped with specialized tooling and equipment with the latest welding- and polishing equipment. In-house designers and European technical consultants assist with conceptualizing of new products or sampling of your own designs. All our products are CAD designed and CAM is utilized throughout the production process. Mulia Perkasa has more than 20 years of manufacturing expertise. The company was founded by Mr. Hendro Gumulia. Mr. Gumulia, a man with a livelong dedication to the furniture industry, has guided the company from mainly manufacturing of rattan products and small wooden components, to become a dynamic international operating in- and outdoor furniture manufacturing company. By 2002 Mulia Perkasa in-house production techniques were modernized and this enabled greater shipping capacity which facilitated us to expand into the USA indoor furniture market. In the years following, Mulia developed a series of successful new products and together with our dynamic, well positioned customers in the market place, we gradually increased our production capacity to nearly 100 containers in 2004. Over a period of time, the global furniture industry has faced various challenges, especially with teak raw material. To accommodate these challenges the company was restructured into a more flexible organization with the focus on manufacturing. We added stainless steel, aluminum and other alternative materials to the solid teak wood, as complementary manufacturing component options, enabling us to offer an enlarged range of attractive product combinations. In 2008 the 2nd generation of the Gumulia family, well educated in modern business practices, joined the management of the manufacturing divisions of the business to further oversee the upgrading and streamlining of all aspects of our organisation.
