We offer unique, customized, private jewish heritage tours of Europe. We - an American/European couple and travel team - have a special connection to the region, in which we both hold Ph.D.s. Our families come form Eastern Europe and include the General who was in charge of the defense of Warsaw during WWII and a descendant of the Russian Czars. We speak multiple languages. We prefer to offer you what money usually cannot buy; the most authentic, one of a kind insider experience - which is as unique as you are. We believe in sustainable tourism and making a difference in the places we travel to, which is why we donate part of our proceeds to regional development projects which you can visit on site. All of this will assure you the most extraordinary, personal travel experience and an understanding of your destinations which most people would only get if they lived on site for a longer period of time. You offer tailor-made individual travel. Why do you display several sample journeys on your website? The sample journeys are intended to inspire you and convey concrete examples of how our educational travel arrangements can present a unique, multifaceted experience of our destinations, highlighting cultural, historical and political aspects. The country combinations displayed in these examples are the result of certain historical overlaps and commonalities, but are in no way binding. The countries we travel to can be combined completely differently or visited separately. Is there a limit to the number of guests you can take on a custom made journey? Yes, we travel in very small groups. It is our intention to offer you individual travel and an authentic experience of the destinations we visit from an insider's viewpoint, which is unlike the standard mass tourism that takes place in large groups. Thus, we take a maximum of six guests on our journeys at a time. While traveling with you, can I visit the development projects you support? Absolutely! On every journey, we visit one of the projects. It is part of our aim that you discover the countries we visit from many perspectives and make discoveries above and beyond the typical tourist sights. You should see how you are personally making a difference. By supporting projects in the countries we travel to, we want to promote development and sustainable tourism. What is the food in Eastern Europe like? That depends which country we are talking about. In general, it is delicious. Traditional Eastern European culinary delights tend to be filling and hearty, but also exquisite. Granted, there is a tendency to "meat and potatoes", but there is much more to it than that! It is safe to say that in some places, cuisine is a national past time. Are the Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden & environs day tours based on a building block system? Can I design them myself? We want to inspire you to discover Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden & environs and offer a selection of relevant themes and related sights. Within these, you can choose what you want to see and do depending on the length of the tour you book. Of course we can mix themes and components and you can request other sights and activities as well or develop them in-depth. Alternatively, if you don't want to design your own program or have us do this for you, we offer ready-made day tours. As is the case with the custom made tours, these can be combined with lecturers if you wish. How physically fit do I have to be to travel with you? In general, we advise that you be in relatively good general health and able to walk and stand without assistance. Our trips are not overly physically exerting, we tailor to your needs. However, experience shows that there are sights which can only be seen on foot and from up close.
